Key information

The Pallas's rosefinch (Carpodacus roseus) is a small finch species native to eastern Asia.  It is normally found as a breeding bird in central and eastern Russia into Mongolia.

Length : 13–17 cm

Wingspan: 20-22 cm

Weight : 21–35 g

Population : The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as locally common.

Habitat: Found in boreal forests and boreal shrubland.

Diet: Mostly a variety of seeds, also buds, shoots and berries. Feeds heavily on seeds, but will also take insects and small invertebrates during the summer breeding season.
