Key information

The olive-backed pipit (Anthus hodgsoni) is a small passerine bird of the pipit (Anthus) genus, with greenish brown streaked with darker brown above. 

Length : 15–17 cm

Weight : 17–26g

Population : The global population size has not been quantified, however it is suspected to be stable in the absence of evidence for any declines or substantial threats.

Habitat: Breeds on edge of taiga, on grassy and bracken-covered slopes, rocky ground and glades in open grasslands across southern, north central and eastern Asia, as well as in the north-eastern European Russia.

Diet: Insects, including adult and larval moths and butterflies, flies, beetles and bugs; grass and seed weeds.
