The mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) is a perching duck species native to East Asia.

Length : 41–51 cm

Wingspan: 68–74 cm

Weight : male 571–693 g, female 428–608 g;

Population : The overall trend is decreasing, although some populations may be stable.

Habitat: in densely wooded areas near shallow lakes, marshes or ponds.

Diet: mainly eat plants and seeds, especially beech mast, snails, insects and small fish to its diet
